PROLAPSE - I wonder when they’re going to destroy your face (2025)
From the very beginning, you feel this slight sense of distance... and you think of P.I.L. The monotonous guitars and the bass that calmly emerges from time to time are accomplices... it’s as if you see the back of a fish briefly coming out of the water just to show you how big it really is. Yes, because this album is truly great, it immediately lets you know where it stands: in that fantastic zone that always and inevitably communicates Not my cup of tea. Beautiful, raw, simple, aggressive, skilful in being consistent with a tradition that draws from british Punk. An album that requires thought because it’s hard to place right away: to listen to while traveling? No. To use as a soundtrack for a video or documentary? No. To listen to while relaxing on a sofa? No. On an armchair? No. Maybe at the office with headphones, smirking at the dismal banality of colleagues who are satisfied with the week’s mainstream novelty? Who knows.
