COIL - Black Antlers (2025)
Any comment would be superfluous, like those that will follow. The Latins used to employ a now obsolete verb in the natural language of new technologies: animadvertere. It was not exactly about feeling empathy, nor did it really mean understanding (with reason) the other-than-us. In Japan, within Zen tradition, something very similar can be found: I shin den shin, which we can translate as from my heart to your heart. This is what this album is: a personal experience that diminishes at the moment of verbal sharing. A small masterpiece to be lived within us, perhaps in dialogue with our most authentic self.
